SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON CAMPAIGNS WITH JEANNE SHAHEEN AT RALLY FOR A NEW DIRECTION IN DOVER

Clinton: It's time for a new direction – it's time to elect Jeanne Shaheen to the Senate

(Manchester, NH) — With a week to go before the election, U.S. Senator Hillary Clinton joined former Governor and current U.S. Senate candidate Jeanne Shaheen at a rally in Dover to make the case for why New Hampshire needs a new Senator and a new direction in Washington.

"We've had enough of lockstep," Clinton said.  "It's time to take a big step in a new direction.  When Jeanne was Governor, she kept New Hampshire's tax burden the lowest in the nation. The economy grew and 67,000 jobs were created. She knows how to work across the aisle, as she did when she successfully fought for the Children's Health Insurance Program. She knows how to balance budgets and solve problems."

"For six years, you've had a Senator who's brought Republican ideology to New Hampshire," Clinton continued.  "It's time you had a Senator who brings New Hampshire values to Washington."

"We are facing big challenges, but I have no doubt that America is up to the task," Shaheen said.  "In just one week, we have the chance to stand up and demand a new course for our country, one that puts middle class families and small businesses first again."

"A new direction is on the way," Shaheen continued.  "In just one week, New Hampshire voters have the chance to stand up, speak out and demand a new course for our country.  We are going to elect Barack Obama President of the United States and we are going to get the new direction we desperately need."
