Biden hoping for Red Sox-Phillies series

MANCHESTER--In the heart of Red Sox Nation Democratic vice-presidential nominee Joe Biden admitted that he is a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies.

"I know you guys have concerns and that's what the matter with Josh Beckett's arm," Biden joked.

Biden added, "I'm hoping for a Red Sox-Phillies World Series."

The Delaware Senator emphasized New Hampshire's economic statistics in his stump speech.

"He's [John McCain] spent a lot of time in New Hampshire, he even calls New Hampshire his second home but the problem is that in the last quarter New Hampshire has lost 1,004 jobs," Biden told 900 people at Southern New Hampshire University.

Biden also said that under U.S. Sen. Barack Obama's economic plan 800,000 Granite State residents would get a tax cut.

Biden argued that John McCain would continue the policies of President Bush and has not proposed any new ideas.

"Governor Palin  said she was two when I was elected to the United States Senate. That's true I was 29," Biden said. ""I wanted to turn and say was yes Governor Palin but you were in the sixth grade the last time John McCain had a new idea."

Palin is scheduled to campaign in New Hampshire on Wednesday. She will be attending events in Dover, Salem and Laconia.

Count?

How many people turned out to see Biden the gaffe machine? 600?

Palin expects 8,000 on Weds.

On purpose

It was purposefully kept as a small "gathering". If given more adequate facilities, I'm sure Biden could easily fill a stadium. His speech today was electrifying and intelligent. Not sure if that's something Palin will deliver to her 8,000.

What matters is how many turn up at the polls on Election Day. Obama/Biden will be up by 7% in New Hampshire over McSame/Failin. And Democrats will do well all over.

As Will Rogers almost said, "I never met a Democrat I didn't like."

Joe Biden impresses me!

I attended the event, it was nice to see Joe in person. He made several points about the differences on the candidates and stressed how we CAN NOT AFFORD more of the same. Mccain wants to tax employer based healthcare for the first time which could put people at risk, people who already have healthcare coverage could actually loose it. I can not see how anyone could bang their head on the wall a third time. Obama and Biden WILL definatly get my vote. They have run the more positive campaign, have better ideas and they are very much able to handle their roles. They are CONFIDENT and READY to LEAD. I have not seen the same qualities on the other side and I just can't take a chance on the same tired ways of the past. Facts are facts, the past 8 yrs have not been good to this country, we can not afford another bad choice.

Is Biden still on his "I'm from PA kick?" Didn't he move from Scranton when he was 10? Give it up Joe your 66 now and theres nothing wrong with admitting your from Delaware.

I don't think this has

I don't think this has anything to do with him originally being from Scranton, PA. Joe lives in the Wilmington area which is very close to Philly. He would naturally be a Phillies fan.
