Obama supporters organizing pre-inaugural events

A supporter of President-elect Barack Obama's campaign is organizing various volunteer activities in preparation for the presidential inauguration on Jan. 20.

Concord resident Kris Schultz held a "snacks and Barack" meeting this past weekend to discuss volunteer opportunities for the next week.

Another former NH reporter heading to cover White House

A former reporter who covered the New Hampshire primary for NBC has been hired as a White House reporter for the website Real Clear Politics.

Mike Memoli worked in the Granite State during the presidential primary and then went on to cover former President Bill Clinton and Vice President-elect Joe Biden during the general election for NBC. During the campaign, Memoli wrote for various NBC websites and shot footage for the network.

Update: Guinta to speak outside Queen City

Mayor Frank Guinta

Manchester Mayor Frank Guinta will deliver a political speech to a group of Republicans in central New Hampshire, PolitickerNH.com has learned.
 
Guinta will be speaking in late February at the Pemi-Baker Valley Republican Club Lincoln-Reagan Day Dinner. 

Guinta's name is often mentioned as a possible statewide candidate and Guinta made similar speeches in the spring of 2008 when he was considering running for governor.

House GOP group elects new chairs

The New Hampshire House Republican Alliance announced last week that it has elected two new co-chairs for the upcoming legislative session.

The group of conservative Republicans said that state Rep. Nancy Elliot (R-Merrimack) was re-elected as co-chair and state Reps. Robert Mead (R-Mount Vernon) and William O'Brien (R-Mount Vernon) were also elected co-chairs of the group.
